Maple syrup for the ears (REVISED)

Here are eighty or so tracks I have quite enjoyed these last five years or so courtesy the indie-pop station CBC Radio 3 of Canada, and, while I had XM Satellite Radio in the earlier stretch, its Canadian-music channel The Verge.

For those without the full five hours these tracks would at once demand and repay in melodic spades, clubs, hearts and diamonds, I have undertaken the task, as difficult as it was a delight, of placing my still-debated seventeen favorites - those still most likely after a hundred plays to reduce me to some combination neither better imagined nor described of gooseflesh, jelly and Niagaras of optic saline, with no more than one per artist, in bold.

Almost all the artists are of Canadian origin, with such rare exceptions as Teenage Fanclub, which is from Scotland and in the prime contingent of Mcs and Macs among its members eligible for honorary residence on the CBC playlists.
