I've been warning about this for what seems like a biathlon - or at the very least a tri-curious 10k - this is what can happen when your race director might as well be a Dutch existentialist cabbie - and since this racing story happened not in North Berwick, Maine (raises free hand) but in North Berwick, Scotland, I am ... Wrong distance run at North Berwick race

A mix-up resulted in some participants in the North Berwick triathlon running nearly twice the planned distance.

Race director Saartje Drijver apologised unreservedly to those who took a wrong turning, saying: “We hope this won’t put anyone off coming again next year.” ...
