They came to Glastonbury, Johnny, to praise you; the songs that men in black sing live after them

YouTube collection of Johnny Cash at Glastonbury 1994

You can see he had nothing but love for that woman. That to me is aboulute beauty.
Hm - time and time again, I have been coming across comments here on YT saying they don't understand "his addiction to her", "that was unhealthy" or so... I think I understand now... And I see it the other way around than those people... ;-)
These two looked like the definition of soul mates.

Fabulous performance, I loved the kiss at the end of "Jackson". A very special thank you to my friend for sharing this outstanding video. Mark

My god those two were amazing<3 I can only hope that one day a man will love me like Johnny loved June..

I was at Glastonbury, in 94. This set was a one special, almost changing moment. I had heard a charity tribute album starring Mark Almond covering Man in Black so I wandered down the hill to see the man, It was early for a Sunday, most of te festival were hungover, or having a late breakfast. But he was mesmeric, the word and buzz spread, the crowd grew and we all shared a spiritual moment in time. The man is truely missed.
Wikipedia: "Cash wrote that his reception at the 1994 Glastonbury Festival was one of the highlights of his career. This was the beginning of a decade of music industry accolades and commercial success."

Andy Kershaw: I remember Johnny Cash
[2006] His extraordinary life has now become an extraordinary film, 'Walk the Line' , which has already won many awards and will open here next month. Andy Kershaw recalls a meeting with a giant of American music

Whenever I think back to meeting Johnny Cash, face to face at Glastonbury in 1994, I have to have a little sit-down. Encounters with rock legends have been 10-a-penny in comparison (yes, even Dylan: especially Dylan, come to think of it). Cash, for me, was more than legendary, he was iconic; a man I'd admired since childhood, a voice that was just as compelling, compassionate and humane in the elderly man stalking the fields of a dairy farm in Somerset as it had been back in the Sun Studios in Memphis or on stage at Folsom Prison. No antecedents, no derivatives. If the cliché "the one and only" applied to anyone, it was to Cash. And now, as festival compere and DJ, it was down to me to bring him on before a gigantic crowd. I was terrified.

And so, it turned out, was Cash ...
