I knew pop music was in its death throes the minute "You Oughta Know" topped the charts. Future online dictionaries of English idiom seeking an illustration to sidebar "nails on the blackboard" need only link to a soundclip of Morrissette's anthemic primal screech, and hope she never for a day forgets to take her meds.
