We remember June 6: Equal Opportunity Impostors' Day
As a gay black woman from the Caribbean, I'm often asked my opinion on the questions that matter most to people like me: "Why are you dressed like that? And, all right, what did you think about Ellen's interview with Oprah? Do you know where can I get bulk limes around here?"
Funny, though - once I wipe off the burnt cork and pull off my corkscrew dreads, pull out the fake boobies and even faker (man boobs, flat butt, 'nuff said) booty, change from my plaid flannel shirt and overalls back into my orange jumpsuit and crash helmet, trim my 'stache and sack in the ladies' room, and put the two dolls that look like tiny David Crosbys in hoodies dangling fat candy cigarettes back into my pink purse, nobody cares what I think - on any subject.
So I switch back on alternate days.
