Ravin' Navin

If A Tribe Called Quest* can sample Ian Dury, how about a "black" bluesman adapting another late-1970s UK rocker thus:

An' I wanna leave the farm to the Share City Croppers
You need a little Jerk sauce on your BK Whoppers
You better leave home if you want to earn the coppers
You'll never stand the pressure of the Share City Croppers
...
Crop crop, Share City Croppers ...

*Whose many samples on "Can I Kick It?" include those from Lou Reed ("Walk on the Wild Side") as well as Dury ("What a Waste"). Some versions at YouTube seem to omit the Dury sample; this one [@1:10] and this one [2:00] do not. Even Prokofiev ... tunes up with that.

And among those covering the heck out of  "Can I Kick It?" is one who might well restyle it "Can I Lykke It?".
